It is now spring and the time for the flowering of the Cherry Blossoms in Japan

Hello all

As you may already know, I would love to visit Japan for the Cherry Blossom Festival. One day I will get there folks, it is just a matter of time.

I was inspired in this direction today by facebook.com/VisitJapanDownUnder which has a lot of information on its site re the flowering of the Cherry Blossoms because it is coming up spring: from last March to early April and even into May in different parts of Japan. At these times the blossoms are at their peak.

Also the name for the viewing of the Cherry Blossoms is HANAMI but here is a little further information for you all:

Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) Feature:

Did you know? Hanami is not only something to enjoy during the daytime – many parks turn on the night lights during peak season so you can enjoy hanami at night! There’s even a name for night time hanami: “yozakura” (literally, night cherry blossom).

Now, if you have a desire to go to Japan and like me, you wonder when the best time to visit would be, there is a map showing you the average time in different cities for the peak flowering. There is even a map with the trends over the last ten years of first flowerings. It is very interesting! Take a look and visit www.jnto.go.jp/sakura/eng/index.php

And now I will leave you with a few pictures – and quotes I found – to brighten your day and to whet your appetite for more of Japan’s beautiful Cherry Blossoms:

Break open a cherry tree and there are no flowers, but the spring breeze brings forth myriad blossoms. (Ikku Sojun)

Blossoms are scattered by the wind and the wind cares nothing, but the blossoms of the heart no wind can touch. (Yoshida Kenko)

Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit (Khalil Gibran).
No worries about that here!

Make sure you let these beautiful pictures uplift and cheer you …
